How to Star Messages in WhatsApp
WhatsApp's "Starred Messages" feature lets you bookmark WhatsApp messages. Bookmarking messages let you easily and quickly get back to the messages later.
Well, let's see how to star messages in WhatsApp.
Star Message(s) in WhatsApp
- Open WhatsApp chat.
- Long press the message(s) that you want to star.
- Now, tap the "Star" icon at the top.
Here are some other important things to note:
- You can "star" anything you send and receive in both the individual contact and group chat.
- Remember that removing the star from a message does not delete that message.
- Within the starred message, you can see "Star" icon. So, if you see the "Star" icon in the message, it means that it is a starred message.
How to View Starred Messages in WhatsApp
You can see all the starred message of a single contact or group by opening that contact or group, tapping their name at the top and then tap "Starred messages" option.
You can see all the starred messages of your WhatsApp account in a single place and here is how: Go to Chats screen > tap Overflow Menu (three vertical dots) >Starred messages.
Remember that clicking the starred message in any of the above methods will take you to that message in the corresponding chat.
How to Unstar Message(s) in WhatsAppUnstar Starred Messages of a Single Contact or Group
- Go the chat which contains the starred message that you want to unstar.
- Tap the contact or group name at the top.
- Tap "Starred messages."
- Now, you can see all the starred messages of that contact or group.
- Select the message(s) you want to unstar and then tap "Remove Star" icon.
Unstar All Starred Messages of a Single Contact or Group At Once
If you want to remove all the starred messages of a particular contact, follow the above steps to reach "Starred messages", then tap Overflow Menu at the top and select "Unstar all."
On the confirmation popup, select "Unstar" option.
Unstar Starred Messages of all Contacts and Groups
- In the "Chats" screen, tap Overflow Menu at the top and then tap "Starred messages." Here, you can see the starred messages from all contacts and groups.
- Now, long press the message(s) that you want to unstar.
- Tap "Remove Star" icon at the top.
Unstar all Starred Messages at Once
- In the "Chats" screen, tap Overflow Menu > Starred messages.
- Tap Overflow Menu at the top.
- Tap "Unstar all."
- In the confirmation popup, tap "Unstar" option.
